The Radnor Township School Board on Aug. 25 voted 7-1 to authorize its consultants to proceed to design development for renovating the district administration building at 135 S. Wayne Avenue, with schematic-design costs estimated at $23.4 million by consultant SCHRADERGROUP. One board member was absent. The planned design includes a room where the board could hold its own meetings, which currently take place in the Radnor Township Municipal Building.
E. Kahn Development Corp. of Malvern paid $17 million, or $52.63 per square foot, for the Robert A. DiStefano Technology Center in Wayne, according to a Commercial Real Estate Direct report on the Aug. 25 sale. The 323,000-square-foot office complex was sold by The Vanguard Group.
The RTSD board approved Dr. Christine Bryan as principal of Radnor Elementary School on Aug. 25, and she began the role on Aug. 26 at a prorated salary of $156,000, according to Patch. Bryan, most recently the assistant principal at Ithan Elementary School, succeeds Dr. Nancy Young, who left for a director role in the Octorara Area School District.
PennDOT and Rockwell Radnor, LLC will close Eagle Road between King of Prussia Road and Radnor Street Road, 24 hours a day, Monday through Saturday, from Sept. 8 through Sept. 18, according to Patch. Drivers will be detoured via King of Prussia Road, Upper Gulph Road, and Wayne Avenue; local access is to be maintained. Eastern University, Villanova's Cabrini Campus, and Valley Forge Military College sit on the affected stretch.

Larry Kagan and Chas McFeely will open Old Friend, an 86-seat contemporary American grill built around a Josper charcoal grill and oven, in the ground-floor retail space of the Apartments at Wayne Station at 166 E. Lancaster Ave., the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Aug. 27. Chef Sam Henzy, formerly of Fork and Vernick Food & Drink, will lead the kitchen; the target opening is late fall.

Radnor commissioners on Aug. 17 heard continued resident opposition to Ordinance 2026-19, which would authorize the $1.45 million township purchase of 405 W. Wayne Ave. to house Delaware County Magisterial District Court 32-2-43. Commissioner Jack Larkin said a town hall will be held in September; a date has not been set.

The first phase of SEPTA's system-wide bus network redesign went into effect Aug. 23 and 24, the transit agency confirmed. Phase 1 affects 30 routes with two new routes (72, 76), six route extensions including Route 105 to Paoli Hospital, and the discontinuation of Routes 35, 47M, 62, 78, 80, 89, and 106. Phase 2 is scheduled for February 2027 and Phase 3 for June 2027, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

The Radnor Township Community Grant Program's inaugural 2027 funding cycle is accepting applications through Sept. 14, Main Line Media News reported. The $100,000 total pool represents an increase over the roughly $50,000 historically awarded; grant committee recommendations go to the board on Oct. 16, with final awards Oct. 26.
